Welcome to the Tomanik Group

Research in our group will focus on the synthesis of complex natural products with an emphasis on exploring their relevant biological properties.  We are particularly interested in pursuing targets that have the potential to make a broad impact and provide solutions to important therapeutic needs.  Our goal is to develop innovative, direct, and robust synthetic routes capable of delivering substantial quantities of these targets that will enable us to evaluate them in their respective biological systems.  Additionally, our group will seek to develop new metal-catalyzed transformations that can rapidly increase molecular complexity and address long-standing issues of selectivity.
